Inaugural Asian Parkour Championship leaps into action in Amman

Oct 17, 2025
The first-ever Asian Parkour Championship officially kicked off on Friday evening, organised by the Jordan Gymnastics Federation at the Prince Hamzah Hall in Al Hussein Youth City.
The championship features the participation of 30 athletes from Jordan, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Syria and Japan — competing over four days in both senior and youth categories for men and women.
According to Shadi Khoury, Championship Director and member of the Jordan Gymnastics Federation Board, the Asian Gymnastics Union awarded Jordan the honour of hosting the first edition of the Asian Parkour Championship in recognition of its success in organising the past two editions of the Arab Parkour Championship.
Khoury stated: “We are proud, as the Jordan Gymnastics Federation, to host the inaugural edition of the Asian Parkour Championship — a modern and rapidly growing sport that is gaining great popularity in Jordan and across the region.”
“Through this championship, we aim to reaffirm Jordan’s capability to host major sporting events by relying on our experienced national staff, who have developed exceptional expertise in organising parkour competitions.”
The championship also includes neutral international judges from Egypt, Kuwait and Iran.
On the first day, qualifying rounds for the Senior Freestyle category were held, while the Speed category qualifiers are scheduled for Saturday.
