KHATTAB MAKES IT A HAT-TRICK OF WORLD POWERLIFTING GOLDS

Abdelkarim Khattab has completed a hat-trick by winning his third consecutive World Para Powerlifting Championships gold medal in Cairo, Egypt.

Khattab topped the 97kg category after successfully lifting 240kg as his best attempt, surpassing Egypt’s Hany Abdelhady (silver, 229kg) and Iran’s Ali Asghar (bronze, 227kg).

It follows the same achievements at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships to confirm his position as the world’s best.

Khattab also won gold at the last two Paralympic Games.
