QARADA WINS WORLD SILVER

Omar Qarada has captured the silver medal at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

Qarada secured second on the podium in the 49kg category, successfully lifting 178kg as his best attempt, with a total of 354 kg.

He missed out on the gold medal by just 1kg, as Turkish lifter Abdullah Kayapinar claimed first place with a lift of 179 kg, while Brazil’s Marco Tulio earned bronze after lifting 177kg.

This marks Jordan’s second medal at the Championships, following Asmaa Issa’s bronze in the 79 kg category earlier in the competition.
