JORDAN WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALLERS READY FOR ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

The Jordan women’s under-20 volleyball team has continued its intensive preparations for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, set to be held in Bahrain from October 22-31.
The squad includes Sasha Abu Sawa, Asal Murad, Masa Al-Khatib, Yasmina Hanawi, Jana Khalifeh, Raya Qa’war, Ghaida Al-Ashoush, Cueva Catherine Hanania, Salma Abu Bakr, Sarah Al-Najjar, Malak Jallad, and Hala Mubarak.
They will be managed by Head Coach, Hassan Al-Husari; and his Assistant Yaqoub Al-Qahawji who said the team had only recently been formed, combining members of the U16 squad – which is set to compete at the Asian Championship in Amman this November -together with older age-eligible players from the junior national team.
They are currently training five times per week, focusing on improving technical and physical readiness to reach peak form before heading to Bahrain.
A total of 12 teams will compete in the women’s volleyball competition at the Games, divided into four groups.
Jordan were drawn in Group B alongside China and Hong Kong.
Group A includes Bahrain, Iran, and Qatar. Group C features Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia, while Group D consists of Thailand, South Korea, and The Philippines.
The women’s volleyball events will take place from October 19-29* at the Isa Sports City in Bahrain.
