OLYMPIAN SECURES OPENING WIN AT WORLD BOXING CHAMPS

Olympian Ziad Ashaish secured his first win on Saturday at the ongoing World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, England.
Ashaish defeated American, Carlos Flores, with a convincing 5-0 decision in the Round of 32 of the -70kg category.
He will next face Georgia’s Luka Nikabadze in the last 16 on Monday.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Abu Jajeh lost his bout to Canada’s Kimo Ali by a score of 0-5 in his Round of 32 -60kg bout.
Jordan’s participation continues on Sunday as another Olympian Hussein Ashaish opens his campaign in the -80kg weight class, facing India’s Chahar Lakshya.
Later in the evening, Obada Al-Kasbeh will contest his second bout in the -65kg category against Japan’s Shion Nishiyama.
