Boxers hold first training session in Liverpool ahead of World Championships

Jordan’s boxers have trained for the first time since touching down in Liverpool, England, in preparation for the World Boxing Championships, which get underway on Thursday.
Under the guidance of Cuban head coach Dagoberto, the team trained at the M&S Bank Arena, the official venue of the championship, which is expected to host more than 500 male and female boxers from over 60 countries.
The coach said the team was in good shape following a successful training camp in Spain which helped his boxers to reach peak performances before heading to Liverpool.
He also emphasized the players’ high morale and their strong determination to deliver outstanding performances and showcase the progress of Jordanian boxing.
Representing Jordan at the World Championships are:
Huthaifa Al-Ashish (-50kg)
Yousef Al-Ashish (-55kg)
Mohammad Abu Jajeh (-60kg)
Obada Al-Kasbeh (-65kg)
Ziad Al-Ashish (-70kg)
Mohammad Al-Hussein (-75kg)
Hussein Al-Ashish (-80kg)
At the last edition of the World Championships, Abu Jajeh won Jordan’s first medal, a bronze.
