2ND ARAB PARKOUR CHAMPIONSHIP LEAPS INTO ACTION

Aug 29, 2025
Jordan is hosting the 2nd Arab Parkour Championship, which got underway on Friday evening.
Hosted by the Jordan Gymnastics Federation at Princess Sumaya Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, the championship features 50 athletes from Palestine, Bahrain, Qatar, Algeria, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan.
Friday’s programme included the qualifying rounds, with the finals scheduled for Saturday.
The first edition of the Arab Parkour Championship was also held in Jordan when Zarqa staged it in July of last year.
Parkour is a modern, action-packed sport that focuses on overcoming obstacles through movement, running, jumping, and climbing, while utilising body balance and strength to transition from one point to another.
It involves creative aerial spins and rotations, and was officially placed under the umbrella of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) in 2017.
