KHATTAB NAMED THE ASIA’S BEST PARA ATHLETE

Jordan’s para powerlifting team star, Abdelkarim Khattab, has been named ‘Best Paralympic Athlete in Asia’ during a ceremony held on Wednesday evening in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Khattab received the award from the Olympic Council of Asia in recognition of his outstanding performances, determination, and contributions to the Paralympic movement.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s top para powerlifters, Khattab has built an impressive career with numerous achievements during his career.
His accolades include two Paralympic gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 games, two Asian Para Games gold medals (2014 and 2022), in addition to four World Championship medals, including two gold.
At the recent, Paris Paralympic Games, Khattab set both the World and Paralympic records after lifting 270kg in the men’s -97kg category.
