JOC LAUNCHES GROUNDBREAKING SAFE SPORT STRATEGY

Aug 08, 2025
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has officially launched its Jordan Safe Sport Strategy, coinciding with the annual Safe Sport Day which will be celebrated on August 8 each year.
The initiative comes as part of the JOC’s ongoing efforts to foster a safe and inclusive sporting environment for all.
The launch of the Safe Sport Strategy reflects Jordan’s commitment to protecting athletes and protecting their physical and mental well-being, in line with global efforts led by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The strategy aims to promote a culture of safe sport across all sports institutions in Jordan, safeguard athletes of all categories, and strengthen the capacity of both the national federations and the JOC to develop and implement effective policies and procedures to prevent abuse and violence.
Through this strategy, the JOC envisions a sustainable, safe, fair, and inclusive sporting environment for all athletes in Jordan - one that protects them from all forms of abuse and violence while promoting their mental and physical health.
JOC Secretary General Rana Saeed emphasised the importance of this milestone in the development of Jordanian sport, stating: “Through this strategy, we aim to foster a safe sporting environment that respects the rights of all participants on and off the fields of competition - athletes, coaches, and administrators.
“It has been developed based on international best practices while adapted to suit the local environment to ensure effective and sustainable implementation.”
She added that the JOC will work in partnership with various sports entities and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the strategy, thereby guaranteeing a healthy and safe sporting environment for all.
