JORDAN BEAT SYRIA IN WEST ASIAN OPENER

Hosts Jordan launched their West Asian Basketball Championships campaign with a win over Syria.
The tournament, which is being hosted at the Shabab Al Fuhais Club, will run through to Friday and Jordan’s 86-63 sets them up well for their next match against Iraq.
Syria beat Lebanon 81-75 in the other opening night match.
