JORDAN RUGBY WIN WEST ASIAN division III
May 03, 2016
Jordan have clinched the Asian Rugby Championships (Division III West) after beating Saudi Arabia in their second and final game.
The 43-13 win, in front of another healthy crowd at Petra University, followed a 41-12 win over the UAE Shaheen side four days earlier to leave them unbeaten at the top.
One of the first to congratulate the team was Jordan Rugby President HRH Prince Mirad bin Raad, who said this is just the start of something exciting for the sport in Jordan.
“As a committee we are very proud of the rapid progress being made in the sport here,” he said. “We are developing our sport across a number of areas and in particular we will support the national time to improve further.”
The match was also watched by senior officials from Asian Rugby with Jordan hosting the mid-year Congress meeting at the Dead Sea on Sunday.
