JORDAN SET FOR BIG AUSTRALIA SHOWDOWN
Mar 28, 2016
It’s all or nothing for Jordan in terms of World Cup qualification on Tuesday when they have a must-win match against Group B leaders Australia in Sydney.
The Nashama trail the Socceroos by two points ahead of this final match which kicks off at 11am Jordan time. Only the top team goes through to the next stage of qualification to the 2018 World Cup. The top two qualify for the 2017 Asian Cup to be held in the UAE.
Jordan warmed up for the match with an 8-0 win over Bangladesh while Australia hammered Tajikistan 7-0. In the corresponding fixture last year, Jordan upset Australia 2-0 in Amman but have travelled Down Under without injured stars Hassan Abdulfattah and Mohammed AlDmeri. Goalkeeper and captain Amer Shafi will return in goal after missing two games through suspension.
