Dealing with the issues created by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic was discussed by the latest Jordan Olympic Committee Board e-meeting which was led by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President.
The meeting discussed the technical and financial impact that the cessation of all sport activity on March 14 has had on the Kingdom, and a report was delivered by the JOC task force that was set up to monitor and address the situation by working closely with the Government for a gradual return.
The meeting also discussed the problems that the national sports federations are suffering as a result, with national teams unable to train together and being forced to train at home in isolation.
The task force presented its action plan to gradually re-introduce sporting activity in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth.
The plan submitted to the Government included adherence to all health standards and regulations, while emphasizing that the JOC will ensure that the health and safety of the nation and its citizens comes first.
The plan includes key staff returning to work at the JOC headquarters, sports federations, sports centres and clubs affiliated with these federations, and taking into consideration the possible re-start of some competitions at a later date when it is deemed safe to do so.
