FOOTBALLERS LAUNCH OLYMPIC BID

Jordan’s U23 football team has arrived in Malaysia for a camp to prepare for the upcoming tournament to try and qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The 4th AFC Asian Cup is being held in Bangkok, Thailand, in January, with the top three teams qualifying for Tokyo, but if host Olympic nation Japan are among them, a fourth team will qualify.

Jordan will compete in Group D alongside Vietnam, North Korea and the UAE with the first match against the Koreans on January 10.

Coach, Ahmad Abdulqader, said the Malaysia camp will enable his team to work on tactics and with a couple of friendlies planned.
