JORDAN SENDS STRONG TEAM TO ASIAN ATHLETICS

Jordan has sent a strong team to Doha to hunt for medals at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships which runs from April 20-24.
Six athletes have made the trip to Qatar, and will participate in Saturday’s Opening Ceremony alongside 700 athletes representing 43 countries at the Khalifa International Stadium.
The team includes: Mohammed Al-Beheiri (High Jump), Mus'ab Al-Momani (Discus, Shot Put), Zina Abdeen (Haptathlon), Sherif Al Atawneh (1500m, 5000m), Samer Johar (800m, 1500m) and Awwad Al Shorafat (800m, 1500m).
Al Momani will launch Jordan’s participation on Sunday at 8.35am in the preliminary round of the Discus. While Al Shorafat and Johar will compete in the first round of the 800m at 8.55am.
Jordan will continue on Monday with Al Atawneh running the first round of the 5000m at 8.33am, while Al Momani starts his Shot Put campaign at 8am.
Al Beheiri will participate in the High Jump on Tuesday at 8.40am while the three runners, AlShorafat, Al Attawneh and Johar, will go in the 1500m at 7.20pm. On the same day, Zina Abdeen is competing in the Heptathlon.
