Jan 15, 2019
Jordan’s final group game at the AFC Asian Cup has ended in a draw with neighbours Palestine to advance to the knock-out stages unbeaten.
The point from the 0-0 draw at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi meant Jordan finished top of Group B with seven points, one clear of Australia in second after they beat Syria 3-2 with an injury time goal.
Palestine finished third with two points from two draws, and Syria were bottom on one point.
Jordan had already beaten Australia and Syria. Next up for Jordan will be the last 16 match against the best third-placed team from Groups A, C, and D.
