Bushra Al Shuaibi has made history by becoming the first Jordanian to win gold at a Chess Olympiad.
Al Shuaibi won eight points from eight matches in Georgia to take the crown. “I’m so proud of this achievement,” said Al Shuaibi. “I would like to thank the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation and my coaches for standing behind me. This is just the beginning.” Jordan’s previousbest result was a silver medal won by Sami Khader two years ago.
