SHABAN TO TACKLE ASIAN TRIATHLON

Jordan’s young triathlete Mariam Shaban will step up her campaign to try and qualify for October’s Youth Olympics by competing in the Asian Championships in Hong Kong this weekend.

The 16-year-old has spent the past week in Hong Kong with coach, Abdulaziz Al Shwaibi, to prepare for the event which has attracted 24 female triathletes.

She is building up her experience ready for next month’s qualification race in The Philippines for the Youth Olympics.

Shaban will be the only Arab competitor in Hong Kong.
