ATHLETES ARRIVE FOR ARAB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hundreds of athletes have arrived in Amman for the 18th Arab Athletics Championships that will be hosted by the Jordan Athletics Federation from April 19-22 at the Baccalaureate track.
Sixteen countries have confirmed their participation including Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, Sudan, UAE, Qatar, Kuwaitm Bahrain, Libya, Djibouti, Mauritania and Jordan.
The event manager, Rafeeq Hamoudhed, confirmed that all preparations are complete including accommodation, transportation, and the opening ceremony.
Over 300 athletes will compete over three days for 56 gold medals and there is the added incentive for the younger competitors that times could qualify them for the U20 World Athletics Championships that will be held in Finland in July.
