SCHOOLS LEARN OLYMPIC VALUES
Mar 08, 2018
The Jordan Olympic Committee’s (JOC) Sporting Schools Programme has launched its second phase training by teaching children the importance of Olympic Values.
Launched last year, the Sporting Schools Programme aims to encourage kids to make sport a part of their lives, and this latest phase will introduce the Olympic Values Educational Programme (OVEP) to more than 100 youngsters.
OVEP is taught by JOC instructors and includes the five values of Fair Play, Respect, Effort, Balance Between Body and Mind, and Excellence, important traits that can be used in their day-to-day lives. This second phase will run through to April 26.
Previously, the kids were taught in the sports of Volleyball and Athletics, and it is expected that more sports will be introduced for future courses.
The children are assessed throughout to monitor progress.
