JAZEERA, FAISALI WIN IN AFC ASIAN CUP

Jordan’s clubs in the AFC Asian Cup continue to impress after both won against Omani opposition to top their groups.

Faisali are top of Group C after a 2-0 win over Defar at the Amman International Stadium thanks to goals from Anas Bani Yaseen in the 43th minute and Lucas Gikiewitcz in the 48th. Faisali are unbeaten on seven points followed by Wehdeh from Syria on five.

Meanwhile, Jazeera picked up a super 3-2 win at Sweeq who took a 2-0 lead through Abdullah Deng and Khalid Al Hajri. But Jazeera fought back with strikes from Yazan Arab (43), Mohammad Tanous (68) and Musa Al Tamari in the 70th minute.

Jazeera share Group A top spot with Al Quah from Iraq.
