JORDAN TO SUPPORT REVAMPED PAN ARAB GAMES
Mar 10, 2015
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has confirmed that it will send a delegation to compete at the Pan Arab Games after it was confirmed last week that it will be held in Sharm Al Sheik, Egypt in December.
The event was last hosted in Qatar in 2011, but after Lebanon and Morocco both pulled out as this year’s hosts, Egypt stepped in.
The event is set to be scaled down with just 10 individual sports and two team sports to be selected by an Arab Games technical committee presided by JOC vice-president Dr Sari Hamdan. JOC Secretary General Lana Al Jaghbeer was also named as a committee member.
This will be fourth time that Egypt has hosted the Pan Arab Games, following previous events in 1953, 1965 and 2007.
