Jordan’s hopes of qualifying for the FIBA Asian Cup is over following their 67-61 defeat to Syria at Prince Hamzeh Hall.
The team will finish no better than fourth with a game to go, missing out on the top three qualifying spots at the West Asian Championships taken by Iran, Syria and Lebanon who will go through.
This is because of their showing at a previous qualifying tournament in Iran when they finished fourth.
Despite two wins over Iraq and Lebanon and a game to go against Iran at 6pm tonight, they are too far off the pace to finish third overall. The final game of the tournament will see while Syria meet Lebanon.
