JOC LAUNCHES FIRST OUTDOOR GYM

The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) in cooperation with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched the Outdoor Gym project in Al Hussein Youth City.
With the JOC keen to encourage a healthier population, the Outdoor Gym is available for anyone to use at any time with high standards of equipment specially created for outdoor use.
“This is a very exciting collaboration that we have formed with KAFD and Al Hussein Youth City to launch this project,” said Nasser Majali, Secretary General of JOC.
“This is the first step, with plans in place to launch more outdoor public gyms like this in other parts of the Kingdom.”
The Manager of KAFD, Saeb Al Hassan, said that it is important that all organisations do what they can to create opportunities for Jordanians to stay fit and healthy.
Mohammad Al Humsi, Project Manager, said that outdoor gyms have proved popular in other cities across the world and is particularly appealing to those who cannot afford regular gym fees.
Al Humsi gave a brief about the Outdoor Gym which includes 12 machines that are suitable for all ages.
The General Manager of Al Hussein Youth City, Dr. Atef Rweidan, praised the facility which he said will be available to use by the thousands of people who visit the site every year.
