MEDIA VISIT OLYMPIC PREPARATION CENTRE
Jan 31, 2018
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has thrown open the doors for the local media to visit its Olympic Preparation Centre (OPC).
The Centre was opened late last year to better prepare Jordan’s leading athletes for major competitions, and it can also play host to athletes from other countries to train at the state-of-the-art facilities.
This is a first for Jordan sport and is part of the JOC’s strategy to support its athletes and provide the best possible facilities for them to train and prepare.
“This facility will play a key part in improving the performance and opportunities for our elite athletes,” said Nasser Majali, JOC Secretary General, told the media during the tour.
“Our athletes make tremendous sacrifices to be the best they can in order to represent Jordan and it is important that we support them, using the latest techniques in sports science as well as these world class facilities.”
The OPC has been developed by the JOC in co-ordination with the Greater Amman Municipality.
