Jan 06, 2018
Jordan’s top boxers are preparing to launch their competitive year at the International India Championship taking place in New Delhi from January 28.
Head coach Ezzeldein Aqqoun pointed out the importance of participating in India so that his boxers can gain some important ring time after a lengthy absence from competition.
"The standard will be high because it will attract some of the best boxers in Asia,” said Aqqoun.
"We have a big calendar in 2018 including the Asian Youth Championships, Asian Games and Arab Championships, so we need to work hard to focus on tactics and technique because the fighters have kept up their fitness.”
The team will include Olympians Hussein Ishaish and Obadah Al Kesbeh alongside Mohammad Al Wadi and Zeiad Ishaish. Randa Al Edwan and Reem Al Shammari will compete in Women’s categories.
