HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), has welcomed to Jordan the President of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), Sebastian Coe, and Asian Athletics Federation President, Dahlan Al Hamad.
The pair are in Amman for the Asian Athletics Board meeting and were given a warm welcome by HRH Prince Feisal who expressed his gratitude to Coe for his support of the Jordan Athletics Federation and the sport as a whole in the Kingdom.
The guests visited the JOC’s ‘Sporting Schools’ project with JOC Secretary General, Nasser Majali, explaining that the initiative will introduce thousands of youngsters to the sport of Athletics.
The initiative was praised by Coe who recognised its potential in not only instilling the spirit of sport into Jordan’s youngsters, but also its potential to discover new talent to develop through to elite level.
The guests also attended the honouring ceremony, hosted by the Jordan Athletics Federation, for the medalists at the last Arab Championships held in Tunisia as well as other achievements during 2017.
