A STATEMENT FROM THE JORDAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

The Executive Office of the Jordan Olympic Committee has received and discussed the resignation of the President, Secretary General and other members of the 11-member board of the Jordan Basketball Federation today (Monday).

The meeting discussed the resignations of Amer Abu Rashed (President), Ibrahim Sharawi (Secretary General), Abdullah Al Qawasmi, Mohammad Theiabat, Mrs. Toroob Khoury, Murad Barakat, Abduljawad Al Ratrout, Ramzi Al Karmi, Ayah Al Masri and Eyad Mohammad.

Based on article (24) B2 of the Federations Regulations, the meeting decided to dissolve the board of the Jordan Basketball Federation as more than half of them presented their resignations.

The meeting also decided to assign Ghalib Al Bal'awi, the executive manager of the federation, to take over the federation in liaison with the Jordan Olympic Committee until a temporary committee is formed to manage the federation based on article (26) A.
