Jordan made a losing start whilst hosting the International Aqaba Beach Volleyball Championship organised by the Jordan Volleyball Federation.
Teams from Lebanon, Egypt and Bahrain are also taking part, but the Jordan B pairing of Mohammad Al Qatami and Islam Daraghmeh lost their first two Group A matches against Lebanon A and Bahrain A.
Lebanon A top the group after also beating Bahrain A.
In the four-team Group B, local pair Mohammad Al Awamleh and Ahmad Dokmak lost to Bahrain B, 2-1, but then picked up a welcome win over Egypt B, 2-0.
Egypt beat Lebanon B, 2-1, and Bahrain beat Lebanon, 2-1. The competition will continue with the top two from each group going through to the semi-finals.
