HISTORY MADE AS SIX JORDANIANS MAKE WORLD TOP 10 IN TAEKWONDO
Sep 03, 2026
Jordan has built a global reputation in Taekwondo, and this morning it has been revealed that no less than six Jordanians sit in the world top 10 for their weights for the first time.
And four of them are either ranked first or second in the world!
Rising star, Fadia Kharfan, who won gold at the World Open Championship last week, has jumped to the top of the world rankings for the women’s -57 kg weight, and is second in the Olympic rankings.
Jafar Al-Dawood is ranked second globally for the men’s -58kg category, and third in the Olympic rankings.
Olympic silver medallist, Zaid Mustafa, is second in the world for the -74kg weight, while Razan Al-Rwashdeh is second for the -67kg weight category.
With the Los Angeles Olympics just two years away, Jordan is perfectly placed for a record Taekwondo delegation to qualify, and will be looking to bolster its reputation further at the Asian Games later this month in Japan.
