JORDAN BEAT IRAQ IN FINAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

JORDAN concluded their 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying campaign for the Asian section with a 106-67 win over Iraq.

The national team had already clinched its qualification to the second and final round of the qualifiers, finishing second in Group C with five victories and a single loss, accumulating 11 points, and trailing on head-to-head point difference behind Iran, who topped the group.

Syria also qualified for the second round with eight points from two wins and four losses to finish third, while Iraq are out with six losses.

In the next round, Jordan are with Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

Teams carry over their points over, where the teams from Groups A and C merge together, and Groups B and D merge. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the World Cup, along with the best fourth-placed team across both groups.
