SHAHEEN WINS WORLD YOUTH KARATE BRONZE

Jordan’s national cadet taekwondo rising star Abdullah Shaheen has won bronze during the second day of the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Shaheen secured the medal in the -48kg category after winning four bouts against opponents from Turkey (Yunus Emre Özden), Saudi Arabia (Abdulaziz Al-Khaldi), Brazil (Leandro Martins), and Indonesia (Davin Volvian).
He was finally beaten in the semi-finals by Uzbekistan’s Yosinbek Odilov.
The medal follows another bronze that was won at the championship the previous day by Mohammad Al-Ayasrah.
Meanwhile, Islam Al-Natsheh exited the -55kg competition in the Round of 64 after losing to Turkey’s Kılıç.
