Apr 10, 2026
Under the patronage of JOC Secretary General, Rana Al-Saeed, the Jordan Women and Youth Kickboxing Championships kicked off on Friday at Al-Shaheed Rashid Al-Zayoud Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, organised by the Jordan Kickboxing Federation.
The championships feature the participation of 60 female athletes representing various clubs and training centres, with competitions taking place over two days.
This event marks a first-of-its-kind milestone in Jordan, as all bouts are officiated by a fully female refereeing team, reflecting growing confidence in their capabilities to manage competitions with professionalism and excellence.
During the opening ceremony, Al-Saeed praised the outstanding organisation, emphasising that hosting a fully integrated championship led by women is a clear indicator of progress in women’s empowerment in Jordanian sport, and reflects ongoing efforts to create a supportive environment that enhances women’s roles as athletes, referees, and administrators.
She also expressed her appreciation to the Jordan Kickboxing Federation for this initiative, wishing all participants success and high-level performances that match the continued development of women’s kickboxing in Jordan.
