Place of Residence: Amman / Swielh

1. How did you get into your sport?

I used to compete in athletics but one day coach, Muneer Bin Jaredh, advised me to try cycling. So, I started practicing cycling at the Age of 17 and within six months I was representing the National team and achieving good local and regional results.

2. What have been your main achievements?

It was when I participated in the Asian Championship in 2010 because it was my first overseas championship and I set a new record for Jordan.

3. How do you think your sport can be improved?

Cycling needs to invest in new safety equipment because it is a sport with a lot of accidents. Also, we are keen to participate in more overseas championships so we can improve our level.

4. How do you see the future in your sport?

Cycling is my life. I even left school for a while because I needed more time to practice and in the future I would like to be a coach.

5. How do you spend your time away from sport?

After practicing I sometimes help the coach with the juniors. Apart from that I like to go shopping with my friends.

6. What are your main hobbies / interests?

Just Cycling, it’s the only thing I love.

7. What ‘saying’ do you believe in...

“Man proposed and God disposes”

8. Who do you consider as your idol?

Coach Muneer Bin Jaredh. He gave me the real meaning of challenge and stands behind me even in the difficult times.

9. Who are your local and international athlete?

The Jordan hero in Cycling Khabeer Al Sheikh and, internationally, the Luxembourg rider Andy Schleck.

10. Which player would you like to play against?

I would like the play against the Syrian Champions because they are always at the top of Arab ranking especially, Ruba Al Hemsi.

11. If you could roll back time, would you choose Cycling or another sport?

Never. Cycling is the only thing I would do and I advise my sister and my brother to get involved also.

12. What kind of Music do you like and what is your favourite film?

I like slow music because it relaxes my mind, especially after the practice which takes place usually next to cars. My favourite movie is Dumb and Dumber because it makes me laugh even I if I am feeling sad.

13. If you had one wish what would it be?

I wish I could improve my standard to be able to compete on the international level.

14. What message or advice would you like to give youngsters coming into sport?

Cycling athletes should look forward to the future and whatever injuries they suffer, they must realise that nothing comes easy. And they should follow the coach’s instructions because they know what is better for them.

15. What is your Favorite food?

Mansaf.

16. If you had five flowers, who would you give them to?

One for my Mother who always supports me. A second for my Coach Muneer Jaredh, and a third for Jordan Cycling Federation. The fourth is to the Jordan Olympic Committee and HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein who always stand behind each player. The fifth is to the Jordan people.
