Manar Ibrahim Sha’eth

Manar Sha’eth is popular Karate player who chose a tuff sport and decided to break the men monopolization for Karate; she worked hard and put her name in the list of stars.

  1. How did you get into your sport?
    I used to pay attention to the Martial Arts especially Karate since I was very young through watching local and international championships, my father had noticed my talent and encouraged me to play Karate, I started playing it in 1995 in Jabal Al Taj Club, Coach Mohammad Ali impact was great on me, he developed my abilities, after that I was qualified to be a part of the Jordan Women National Team in 2001 during the Youth Eliminations.
     

  2. What have been your main achievements?

    • Bronze Medal in Team KATA during the Asian Championship in 2001

    • Silver medal in the Asian Championship 2002 in Team KATA

    • Silver medal in the in Morocco 2005 for

    • 4th place in World Youth Championship in 2006

    • Bronze medal in the Pan Arab Games in Egypt 2006

    • Bronze medal in World Cup 2006 ( Cubi Uzaka)


     
  3. What is the biggest highlight / moment of your career?
    My best moment was when I received the bronze medal in the first Asian Games that was held in Bangkok because it’s an Asian dream and It’s a single achievement.
     

  4. What are your ambitions / goals now?
    To qualify to the world finals for women, receive a world medal and rise Jordan flag in a major event
     
  5. How do you think your sport can be improved?
    Karate sport needs a lot of support and to focus on women sport because we need them to raise the level of the women national team among the big countries we need to spread the awareness among the community about women taking part in sport.
     
  6. How do you spend your time away from sport?
    After work I go to sport halls to play other sports like volleyball and in general I like to go out with my family and friends
     
  7. What are your main hobbies / interests?
    Handball and Swimming
     
  8. If you were given one million dinars how would you spend it?
    I would invest part of it in Charity works for orphans and people with disabilities, and to establish a Karate Club fro women with high quality equipments, and to finish some personal business for me.
     
  9. Who do you consider as your idol(s)?
    On the personal level my father, on the sport level the federation President Mo’een Al Faouri
     
  10. Who are your favorite overseas and local athletes?
    Locally Amer Abu Affifeh , and overseas the Turkish player Arash and the Uzbekistani Sofia
     
  11. What message or advice would you like to give youngsters coming into sport?
    There is no impossible in Women Karate Sport, they have to play sport, be advocate train hard, and they are going to complete our journey and will raise the Jordan Flag in the events in Future.

    Mansaf

    Najwa Karam
     
  14. Last words for your fans?
    I would like to thank the Hashemite Family the main supporter for sport and the Jordan Olympic Committee, Umniah Company and all Jordanian who supported us.
