Monthly Media Awards

In our efforts to recognize media excellence and to build a closer relationship with our friends in the media, the JOC presents monthly media awards, sponsored by Fast Link.

Journalists and photographers are invited to send in their stories and pictures each month which are then forwarded to an independent panel of judges. Prizes of JDS200 are then presented monthly to the winning story and picture.

At the end of the year, all the winning entries are re-judged for the accolade of becoming the Sports Writer of the Year or the Sports Photographer of the Year. These awards are presented at the annual Black Iris Sports Media Awards Royal Gala Dinner.

Best Photography:
First Place: Sami Khashman – Al Dustour (Cross- country Race at the Asian Games)
Second Place: Salah Abu Wahdan – Al Arab Al Yawm ( Volleyball at Al Karmel Championship )
Third Place: Ayoub Al Taweel – Al Dustour (Football Arab Champion League 2007)
 
Sports Writer:
First Place: Khalil Ktait – Al Arab Al Yawm (Women Sport is a Developing Project requires Federations Plans)
