Jordan’s female knight
The name Bisharat is synonymous with horses and one young Jordanian is set to follow a long line of relatives into the top echelons of equestrian sport.

1. How did you get into your sport?
Equestrian is like a heritage in our family because my father and all of my family are horse riders. Some of my earliest memories of this world are of horses! My father was the founder of Aljwad Al-Arabi Club, so he took me with him to see the horses before I could walk. At the age of seven I started practicing equestrian and the more I practiced it, the more addicted I became. When I was 12, I participated in my first overseas championship in Syria
2. What have been your main achievements?

First place in 2007 Pan-Arab games in Alexandria

Fourth place in 2008 Pan-Arab games in Kuwait

Fifth place in 2008 Syrian championship

First place in AL Khareef Championship held in Jordan last year

Fifth place in Syria in 2009
3. What is the biggest highlight / moment of your career ?
It was when I participated in my first Pan-Arab games.
4. What are your ambitions / goals now?
To participate in bigger overseas championships and to compete against world champions.
5. How do you think your sport can be improved?
The sport needs the support of Jordanians to stand behind us. It is representing our heritage so we must strive to be at the top which also means more funding is required for equipment and good coaches.
6. How do you spend your time away from sport?
At work and with my Family.
7. What are your main hobbies / interests?
Drawing and writing poetry.
8. If you were given one million dinars how would you spend it?
I will buy a horse and I will support charities.
9. Who do you consider as your idol(s)?
My father on the personal level, and My Uncle Hani Bsharat on the overseas level.
10. Who are your favorite overseas and local athletes?
Locally Ibrahim Bsharat and overseas HRH Princess Haya Bent Al-Hussein
11. What message or advice would you like to give youngsters coming into sport?
First they must have courage and enterprise because if you want to be a good rider you have to be strong enough in both riding and dealing with your horse. Also, keep practicing.
12. What is your Favorite food?
Mlokhyh.
13. Last words for your fans?
First, I would like to thank HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein and the JOC Secretary General for their support. Also a special thanks for HRH princess Alya Bint Al-Hussein, the inspiration for all riders in Jordan. I just ask all Jordanians to back me and the other riders.
