The golden girl of Arab middle distance running has set her sights on making the team for London 2012

1. How did you get into your sport?
I started in 2002 by entering school’s championships and did well so I joined the Amman Club in 2004. In 2004, I joined the National team to start my journey towards the overseas achievements.
2. What have been your main achievements?

Gold medal in Arab championships Jordan 2008

Silver Medal in Arab Championships Bahrain 2006

Bronze Medal in Arab Championship Egypt 2010

Gold Medal in Arabian Championship Jordan 2008
3. What is the biggest highlight / moment of your career ?
Winning the Asian Schools Championships, I was so proud of it because it was my first medal that I achieved.
4. What are your ambitions / goals now?
To achieve new personal records and qualify for the London 2012.
5. How do you think your sport can be improved?
There must be closer supervision from the federation and to make greater efforts in the schools to develop the next generation of athletes.
6. How do you spend your time away from sport?
Shopping with friends at malls around Amman, especially City Mall.
7. What are your main hobbies / interests?
I enjoy watching Indian movies. They seem more exciting than other movies!
8. If you were given one million dinars how would you spend it?
I would support charity and establish a new project to support juniors in all sports.
9. Who do you consider as your idol(s)?
My father, and also Coach Emad Al Gofri.
10. Who are your favorite overseas and local athletes?
Locally, fellow runner Bara'a Marwan and overseas the Portuguese Player Christiano Ronaldo.
11. What message or advice would you like to give youngsters coming into sport?
Keep practicing and follow up the coach’s instruction because he is the only person who knows how to develop your level.
12. What is your Favorite food?
Sea food.
13. Last words for your fans?
First, I would like to thank HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein and the JOC Secretary General for their support. Also a special thanks for my coach Emad who shows his interest in my talent and I wish to achieve more result so Jordanian will be proud of us.
